Chiang Mai – Elephants and Temples
Our second full day in Chiang Mai offered multiple opportunities for guests to explore the cultural heritage of this wonderful city. Some chose to play a second round at Chiangmai Highlands while others relaxed at the Dhara Dhevi, pampered in the spacious and serene spa. Some were up with the sun to meet monks as they made their trek from temple to town, offering food to share with their fellow monks, and receiving a blessing. Most guests enjoyed a trip to an elephant training camp, where the elephants displayed their artistic skills, then carried us up and over a mountain to a village where we met the resident tribe. Small groups also visited many of the temples throughout town and had an opportunity to browse the local markets.
